Doha Startups Secure Record Funding Through Expanded Global Investment Programs

Qatar's startup ecosystem recorded a 43.5 percent expansion in 2025 that lifted its global ranking to 73rd place while supporting 87 startups and total funding above $35.46 million. Venture funding reached $58.7 million that year, nearly doubling from the prior period with the bulk of activity at early stages. These figures frame the investment story behind Doha's current startup momentum.
The growth matters now because multiple local platforms are converting that capital into visible activity. Web Summit Qatar 2026 at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center featured 54 startups incubated by Qatar Science & Technology Park and 20 additional ventures drawn from the Qatar Foundation university network, spanning health, finance, cybersecurity and sustainability. The event drew more than 30,000 attendees from 120 countries along with 1,600 startups and nearly 1,000 investors.

Qatar Science & Technology Park ran its 12th XLR8 program Demo Day on March 28, 2025, where 12 tech startups presented to investors. ArtLab, Gadgetry City and Sanad placed as the top three. Startup Grind Doha is preparing the All Star Pitch Battle for September 15, 2025, with registration closing August 29, 2025, to prepare selected companies for wider competition. The same organization recognized ShipBee as Tech Disruptor, Lillia as AI Startup of the Year and KARTY as FinTech Startup of the Year through its 2025 Tech Startup Community Awards. Alchemist Doha, formed through a partnership between the investment platform and Startup Grind Qatar, is connecting founders with global experts and investors.
