Al Sadd Club opened a 12-pitch training complex in Al Waab on 10 July, giving the squad immediate access to an on-site gym, recovery pools and video-analysis rooms ahead of pre-season matches.
The move arrives weeks before the Qatar Stars League opens its 2026 campaign, where Al Sadd finished second last season. Club officials said the site allows the first team and reserve squads to train without sharing space at Khalifa International Stadium, which hosts national-team fixtures and concerts through August. Local residents in Al Waab already notice increased traffic on Al Waab Street during morning sessions.
City planners approved the project in late 2025 after the club secured a 15-year lease on land adjacent to Aspire Zone. The arrangement keeps the facility within a 15-minute drive of the club’s existing headquarters on Al Rayyan Road, cutting travel time for players who live in nearby compounds.
Construction records show the club spent 120 million Qatari riyals on the site, including four floodlit pitches and a 400-seat stand for youth matches. Daily operating costs are listed at 85,000 riyals, covered partly by a sponsorship package signed with a local bank in June. Attendance at the club’s youth academy sessions rose 22 percent in the first quarter of 2026, according to internal figures released last month.
Next month the complex will host trial sessions for under-17 players from schools across Doha, with registration opening at the Al Sadd ticket office on 18 July. Supporters can follow updated training times on the club’s app or by calling the main switchboard at the Al Rayyan Road site.
